Student Disability Services (SDS) welcomes Brittany Warren as the new Disability Specialist. Brittany is a UNI alum, having received both her BA in Social Science Education and MAE in Post Secondary Education: Student Affairs from UNI. As a student at UNI, she worked for the Department of Residence and also gained experience as a practicum student in the Student Disability Services office. After graduating in 2011, Brittany began working as the Student Achievement Counselor in the Office of Academic Success at Upper Iowa University. Part of her responsibilities included the coordination of academic accommodations for students with disabilities.
Brittany has been in the SDS Disability Specialist position since May 14th. In this position, she will be helping to coordinate academic accommodations for students, assisting with the Weekly Mentoring program, providing outreach and assistance to faculty, staff, current and prospective students and their parents. She has also assumed responsibility for the alternative text conversion and will be providing support to students interested in learning more about the assistive technology available through SDS.
