A new Council of Student Leaders has been created on campus and has begun meeting this semester. Developed by the Office of the Dean of Students, the council is comprised of 31 leaders from across campus, each of whom represents a specific constituency. The council complements the continuing, formal student governance structure that is NISG and seeks to broaden and strengthen the network of engaged student leaders on campus.
The official purposes of the Council for Student Leaders are to provide an avenue for routine advice and counsel to the Vice President for Student Affairs and the Dean of Students on matters of student concern, to serve as a vehicle for relationship building between and among a diverse array of student leaders, and to provide professional and leadership development of its members.
