Student receives outstanding delegate award at conference

Posted on Wednesday, December 16th, 2015

Jack Ave, a junior from Milford, Iowa, was recently awarded the most outstanding delegate award at the American Model United Nations Conference (AMUN) in Chicago. Ave participated with UNI’s Model United Nations Competition Team, which is led by Co-presidents Danielle Massey and Courtney Massey.  AMUN runs a mock version of the United Nations and aims to provide students with an inside look into real United Nations sessions and allow them to gain valuable experience in the political world.

Ave studies political science and public administration, and noted that he was particularly well prepared from his experience in the classroom and conversations with professors.  Ave worked within a committee which covered social, humanitarian and cultural issues and credits the award to his work on the protection of migrants and the many speeches he gave on the topic. Congratulations, Jack, on your well-deserved award!
