Lynne Lemert, Rider Hall Secretary for the Department of Residence at the University of Northern Iowa, earned regional recognition for her outstanding contributions to serving students. Lynne was presented with the UMR-ACUHO Support Staff Recognition Award at their 2016 Annual Conference held in Madison, Wisconsin in November.
This award is presented annually to a few individuals from the region nominated for providing outstanding service to their institution.
Lynne very deservingly received the award in recognition of her exemplary and enduring contributions supporting daily hall operations and her impact on students’ experience. In addition to Lynne’s responsibilities as hall secretary within Rider Hall, she also shares her time to assist in Shull Hall, as well as being a student herself, working her way toward a degree in Public Administration.
“Her care for the students she serves sets a tone in the hall and in the Department for student interactions,” stated Ellie Hail-Langner, Rider Hall Residence Life Coordinator who nominated Lynne for the award. “Working with Lynne Lemert has truly been the gift of a lifetime.”
UMR-ACUHO is a professional association dedicated to meeting and exceeding the professional development needs of student housing and residence life staff members in the region. Membership includes approximately 100 institutions of higher education supporting nearly 1,600 housing professionals.
