Denison honored with award

Christopher Denison, Associate Director of Facilities & Operations, Wellness & Recreation Services, received the Horace Moody Award at the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) national meeting in Tampa, Florida.  The Horace Moody Award is given to one NIRSA professional from each of the six NIRSA regions to recognize their contributions to student development.  This national award is named after one of the founders of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association.

 

UNI students and staff earn awards at regional orientation conference

Nine UNI students accompanied UNI Orientation staff members Monica Johnson and Kristin Woods to the Region V National Orientation Directors Association conference in Omaha, Nebraska.  The students who participated included Mathew Knight, Tristan Maxey, Amber Blackmon, Ian Goldsmith, Chris Bowden, Kyra Hawley, Alicia Jessip, Sarah Duster and Tyler Avis.

 

Financial Literacy Month events include Quiz Bowl

A $400 scholarship is the top prize in the 2012 Financial Literacy Quiz Bowl, Tuesday, April 17, 7 p.m., at Maucker Union. Quiz bowl questions will focus on topics such as budgeting, credit, credit cards, saving, financial aid, identity theft, insurance and taxes.  The event involves up to 32 teams of 2-5 students.  All participants must be current UNI students and not currently employed by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
